Abstract

Bandara Internasional Yogyakarta (YIA) menghadapi kendala operasional serius di area sisi udara, khususnya akibat keterbatasan jumlah mobil Follow Me. Kendaraan ini memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung tugas Apron Movement Control (AMC) untuk mengarahkan pergerakan pesawat, melakukan patroli keamanan, serta mengawasi aktivitas kendaraan dan personel di area sisi udara. Namun, kondisi di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa hanya tersedia satu unit mobil Follow Me untuk melayani seluruh area sisi udara, yang berdampak pada lambatnya respon terhadap pergerakan pesawat dan potensi insiden keselamatan.
Sejumlah kejadian, seperti keterlambatan pengawalan VIP, pelanggaran prosedur operasional oleh personel ground handling, serta temuan benda asing (Foreign Object Debris/FOD) di apron, mengindikasikan lemahnya pengawasan
akibat keterbatasan kendaraan. Hal ini menurunkanefektivitas pengendalian pergerakan dan meningkatkan risiko gangguan operasional di sisi udara. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh keterbatasan mobil
Follow Me terhadap pengendalian pergerakan di area sisi udara. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei terhadap 30 responden yang merupakan personel AMC dan ground handling.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterbatasan mobil Follow Me berpengaruh terhadap penurunan kualitas pengawasan dan keselamatan operasional di area sisi udara Bandara YIA. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penambahan unit mobil Follow Me serta peninjauan ulang strategi operasional AMC untuk memastikan pengendalian pergerakan yang lebih optimal.

Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) faces serious operational constraints in the airside area, particularly due to the limited number of Follow Me cars. These vehicles play an important role in supporting Apron Movement Control
(AMC) duties to direct aircraft movements, conduct security patrols, and monitor vehicle and personnel activities on the apron. However, conditions in the field show that only one Follow Me car is available to serve the entire apron area, which has an impact on the slow response to aircraft movements and potential safety incidents.
A number of incidents, such as delays in VIP escorts, violations of operational procedures by ground handling personnel, and the finding of foreign object debris (FOD) on the apron, indicate weak supervision due to vehicle limitations. This reduces the effectiveness of movement control and increases the risk of operational disruption on the airside. This study was conducted to determine
how much influence the limitations of Follow Me cars have on controlling movement on the apron. The method used is quantitative with a survey approach to 30 respondents who are AMC and ground handling personnel.
The results showed that the limitations of Follow Me cars had an effect on reducing the quality of supervision and operational safety in the airside area of YIA Airport. Therefore, it is necessary to add Follow Me car units and review the operation strategy.
