Abstract

Kegiatan On the Job Training merupakan kegiatan yang memerlukan kompetensi hard skill maupun soft skills. soft skills yang dimiliki oleh taruna poltekbang surabaya berdasarkan hasil pre test menunjukkan bahwa taruna
merasakan kekhawatiran dan kurang percaya diri yang dapat berpotensi menurunkan kualitas pelaksanaan OJT. Permasalahan tersebut menunjukkan pentingnya pembekalan Soft skills bagi taruna sebelum pelaksanaan OJT. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh soft skills terhadap kinerja On The Job Training (OJT) taruna Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya di industri transportasi udara, dalam perspektif kesiapan kerja di era Revolusi Industri 4.0. Soft skills yang diteliti meliputi komunikasi efektif, kepemimpinan, kerja sama tim, manajemen waktu, dan kemampuan penyelesaian masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis Structural Equating Modelling (SEM) dengan model regresi dengan variabel intervening. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 138 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kepemimpinan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap komunikasi efektif; (2) penyelesaian masalah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kerja sama tim; (3) komunikasi efektif berpengaruh signifikan terhadap manajemen waktu; (4) kerja sama tim berpengaruh signifikan terhadap
manajemen waktu; (5) manajemen waktu berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja OJT; (6) komunikasi efektif tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja OJT melalui manajemen waktu; serta (7) kerja sama tim berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja OJT melalui manajemen waktu.
Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan soft skills, terutama dalam aspek kerja sama tim dan manajemen waktu, sebagai faktor kunci dalam peningkatan kinerja magang taruna di dunia kerja yang semakin kompetitif.

On-the-job training (OJT) is an activity that requires both hard skills and soft skills. The soft skills possessed by Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya cadets, based on the results of a pre-test, indicate that cadets feel anxious and lack confidence, which could potentially reduce the quality of OJT implementation. This problem highlights the importance of equipping cadets with soft skills before OJT
implementation. This study aims to analyze the influence of soft skills on the performance of On-the-Job Training (OJT) for students at the Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic in the
aviation industry, from the perspective of work readiness in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The soft skills examined include effective communication, leadership, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis and a Structural Equating Modelling (SEM) with intervening variables. The sample consists of 138 respondents. The results of the study indicate that: (1) leadership significantly influences effective communication; (2) problem-solving significantly influences teamwork; (3) effective communication significantly influences time management; (4) teamwork significantly influences time management; (5) time management significantly influences OJT performance; (6) effective communication does not
significantly influence OJT performance through time management; and (7) teamwork significantly influences OJT performance through time management. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening soft skills,
particularly in the areas of teamwork and time management, as key factors in enhancing trainee performance in an increasingly competitive workplace.
